Job Description
As a Construction Safety Manager, you must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify hazards. You will prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education among team members. You will also discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary and diverse workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports and monitors occupational health and safety.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute health and safety plans according to legal guidelines.Oversee field procedures to identify deviations from quality and safety standards.Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics to executives.Essential SkillsOSHA 30 accreditation.Bilingual in Spanish and English.Excellent attention to detail to identify hazards.OSHA 10, 30, and 500 accreditations and instructor training.Boom lifts, telehandler, and fork truck accreditation and instructor training.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommercial construction experience.Ability to recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.Understanding of customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.Supervise and manage company tools, equipment, and other pertinent field resources.Investigate and manage loss prevention strategies for tools, equipment, and materials.Work Environment
The work environment includes both office and on-site settings. You will be training self-performing crews and subcontractors, with on-site presence being 90% or more. There is currently a site in Tennessee that will eventually need visits once per month.
