Next 150 Construction, a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company, is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to administer the safety program and serve as safety advisor, ensuring safety compliance by the project team and all employees and subcontractors working at the site. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.

Responsibilities Support all safety efforts on the project and promote the Next 150 Cares safety cultureEnsure all tradesperson and contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.Ensure contractors meet Next 150 and Gilbane safety submittal requirementsMaintain all safety related documentationEnsure contractor compliance with Next 150 and Gilbane safety plan & expectationsMake recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or healthUtilize SafetyNet to Audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety PlanPerform at least 15 SafetyNet inspections/month with at least 100 observations each inspection.Coach & train project teams in effective hazard identification and correction of issues using SafetyNetProvide and analyze SafetyNet trending reports with project team and develop action plansProvide safety training to project teams on Next 150, client and OSHA requirementsInvestigate all accidents/near misses and complete all paperwork requiredServe as project liaison and manage project correspondence with Insurance carriersResponsible for development and supervision of project safety managersEnsure project teams have safety equipment and resourcesLead and participate in sagety portion of Stretch and Flex shift start meetings QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
BCSP credential5 years of relevant experienceCertified as an OSHA 500 TrainerOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety and health principles, techniques, methods, regulations, and interpretationsPractical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policiesCapable of identifying current and future potential exposures and recommending corrective actionProficient computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suiteProficient written and verbal communication skillsDeveloped management, leadership and interpersonal skillsSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
