Job Summary: The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety protocols and procedures on construction sites. This role involves conducting regular site inspections, training employees on safety practices, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in construction safety management and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
ResponsibilitiesLead daily safety briefings and toolbox talks with site personnel to discuss the day's tasks, potential hazards, and safety protocols.Perform regular and thorough site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly.Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in collaboration with site supervisors and contractors. Ensure that all safety measures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Conduct comprehensive safety training sessions for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Provide ongoing education to ensure all personnel are up-to-date with the latest safety practices and regulations.Investigate any accidents, near-misses, or safety incidents that occur on the site. Compile detailed reports, analyze the causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Maintain meticulous records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports. Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.Participate in meetings with project owners, contractors, and regulatory bodies to discuss safety concerns and updates. Advise management on safety-related matters, including the costs associated with implementing safety measures.Stay updated on the latest industry regulations and safety standards to ensure the site remains compliant. Implement changes to safety protocols as needed to adhere to new regulations.Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct regular drills to ensure all personnel are prepared for potential emergencies.Promote a culture of safety on the construction site by promoting safe work practices and encouraging open communication about safety concerns.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management.In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in safety management software and tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on healthcare projects and/or manufacturing, clean rooms, biopharma.PMP certification.Proficiency in Procore and Bluebeam.OSHA 500 and OSHA 30 certifications.Work Environment
The work environment includes work hours from 7am to 4pm, with work sites located in Connecticut (Fairfield, Hartford, New Haven counties) and one in Poughkeepsie, NY. The work will be split between the company's headquarters in Brookfield and various worksite locations. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.07 - $72.12/hr.
