Construction Solicitor - London An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Solicitor to join a market-leading legal team known for its collaborative culture and high-profile work. This role offers exposure to prestigious clients, including top retailers, hotels, investors, design practices, and major contractors, as well as involvement in high-value development and infrastructure projects. This position offers a mix of non-contentious and contentious construction work. You will handle standalone construction matters as well as support real estate colleagues on development projects and property transactions. Key responsibilities include: - Drafting and negotiating amendments to JCT and NEC contracts, collateral warranties, performance bonds, and parent company guarantees - Drafting bespoke consultant appointments and subcontracts - Conducting due diligence on collateral warranty packages for commercial tenants - Advising on construction aspects of agreements for lease and fit-out contracts - Reviewing contract risks for contractors and consultants during tender negotiations - Advising on disputes, including termination, payment issues, and defects claims - Assisting with adjudication, court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation - Drafting and advising on maintenance agreements You will have the confidence to run your own matters under supervision and assist senior colleagues on complex cases. The role offers direct client contact and opportunities for involvement in business development activities, such as delivering seminars and attending networking events.
