Position Summary:

The Construction Superintendent assists the VP of Fitzhouse in refurbishing, remodeling, and ensuring the regular maintenance of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities. The position will include extensive travel, including local, regional, and out-of-state, sometimes requiring overnight stays. This person is also responsible for interviewing, requesting hires to VP of Fitzhouse, and supervising all construction workers.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Interviews and sends requests of hire of construction workers to the VP of Fitzhouse as needed for projects, and supervises the work of assigned construction workers; Supervises WestCare staff under the direction of the VP of Fitzhouse; Determines methods, type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for all construction projects; Provides assistance to the VP of Fitzhouse in new construction, refurbishing, and remodeling of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities; Plans and manages the facility operation budgets; Interprets and implements management policies and directives to ensure that the Foundation’s operational and business goals are achieved; Solicits and reviews responses to RFPs; making recommendations to the VP of Fitzhouse regarding proposals; Identifies and collects pertinent data for analysis and creates statistical spreadsheets and reports relating to special projects; Respond to concerns regarding facilities maintenance and safety issues by developing action plans and making recommendations; Prepares and submits reports concerning compliance with State and Federal safety regulations, fire codes, employee safety training, and facility maintenance;

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Makes regular site visits to assigned WestCare facilities, including local, regional, and out-of-state locations; Attends all necessary meetings and trainings to gather information needed to satisfy WestCare facility needs; Develops and maintains all appropriate files, records, and documents; Maintains compliance with all lease and contractual expectations in relation to facility operations; Works harmoniously with WestCare Foundation parties, including Finance, Human Resources, Professional Services, Office of the General Counsel, etc.; Embrace and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; Performs all other duties as assigned.
