Job DescriptionProvide overall leadership for on-site field administration, supervision, and technical management for all construction operations. This role includes direct supervision of assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction personnel. The Superintendent will direct planning, coordination, and execution of work to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed profit goals. Additionally, the Superintendent will maintain a safe workplace, promote and enhance client relationships, and uphold the company image. This position typically involves managing projects generally under $6 million in size.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Safety Manager to create a safe work site.Coordinate everyday tasks involved in the construction process.Schedule crews and subcontractors.Arrange for material and equipment to be on site as needed.Work with the foremen to coordinate the daily production plan.Oversee quality control.Daily reporting of all work completed.Provide technical expertise to resolve production issues and verify the execution of corrective actions.Work to keep the project on schedule, meet specifications, maintain project safety, and meet the expectations of the Project Manager.Interface with the owner on all projects assigned.Essential SkillsExperience equivalent to a four-year degree.Two to three years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or five to seven years of construction-related experience.Completion of OSHA Ten Hour Safety Course.Knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements.Understanding of the essential job functions, duties, and responsibilities of a Project Manager.Competency with personal computer-based scheduling software, including Timberline, Excel, MS Projects, and Word.Demonstrated competency in managing site activity, labor relations, anticipating and resolving field-related issues, establishing and enforcing site schedule requirements, managing site safety and insurance risks, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate both written and oral.Work EnvironmentThe Superintendent will work on job sites every day, primarily in a trailer, providing support to the field and assisting the Project Manager in the office to ensure the job is completed on time. This role involves working on K-12 and private construction projects. Note that the Superintendent will not be required to perform manual labor such as 'swinging a hammer.'Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
