Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Description

We are a growing construction company with a strong client base and projects throughout the state of Indiana. We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our team. A variety of construction experience is preferred, including multifamily experience. The first project will be a large retail store in Westfield, IN. The project consists of three buildings totaling 7,000 square feet, which is a ground-up project currently moving from Phase 3 to Phase 4. The next project will be totaling 10,000 square feet.

ResponsibilitiesCreate 2-4 week look-aheadsUse Auto Desk for all updates and documentsOversee daily construction activities to ensure they align with the project timeline, budget, and specificationsManage all on-site operations, including subcontractors, labor crews, and suppliersEnforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policiesEnsure that all work performed meets specified quality standards and the project’s design intentDevelop, update, and maintain daily and weekly work schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasksAddress and resolve any on-site issues or delays, escalating concerns to the project manager when necessaryMaintain clear and effective communication with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is informed of progress and any changesMaintain accurate records of daily reports, site conditions, inspections, and all other required documentationEnsure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulationsOrganize site logistics, including deliveries, equipment rentals, and workforce allocationProvide leadership to on-site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environmentPerform all other duties as assignedEssential SkillsOSHA 30-hour certification3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in commercial or multifamily construction, preferably as a Superintendent or Assistant SuperintendentProficient in construction management software and project tracking tools, such as Procore or AutodeskExperience with ground-up projects of $1.5 million or moreExperience building 2-4 week look-aheadsStrong understanding of construction methods, blueprints, and project management principlesProven ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively on a construction siteStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage conflict and resolve issues promptlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)Experience with various types of projects (e.g., commercial, residential, institutional, industrial)Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and being on-site for extended hours, including sometimes on weekends or evenings, depending on the project schedule. The role involves travel to job sites located in and around the Indianapolis market, with gas reimbursable for travel beyond the assigned project. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with time spent in an on-site trailer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
