We are a growing construction company with a strong client base and projects throughout the state of Indiana. We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our team. A variety of construction experience is preferred, including multifamily projects. The first project will be a large retail store in Westfield, IN. This is comprised of 3 buildings totaling 7,000 square feet, and this is a ground-up project that is moving from Phase 3 to Phase 4. The next project will be across the street, totaling 10,000 square feet.
ResponsibilitiesCreating 2 - 4 week look ahead schedulesUsing Auto Desk for all updates and documentsOverseeing daily construction activities to ensure they align with the project timeline, budget, and specificationsManaging all on-site operations, including subcontractors, labor crews, and suppliersEnforcing safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policiesEnsuring that all work performed meets the specified quality standards and the project’s design intentDeveloping, updating, and maintaining daily and weekly work schedulesAddressing and resolving any on-site issues or delays, escalating concerns to the project manager when necessaryMaintaining clear and effective communication with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractorsMaintaining accurate records of daily reports, site conditions, inspections, and all other required documentationEnsuring all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulationsOrganizing site logistics, including deliveries, equipment rentals, and workforce allocationProviding leadership to on-site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environmentPerforming all other duties as assignedIdeal SkillsOSHA 30-hour certification3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in Commercial or Multifamily construction, preferably as a Superintendent or Assistant SuperintendentProficiency in construction management software and project tracking tools, such as Procore or AutodeskExperience with ground-up projects with sizes of $1.5 million plusExperience creating 2-4 week look ahead schedulesStrong understanding of construction methods and blueprint readingProven ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively on a construction siteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)Experience with various types of projects (e.g., commercial, residential, institutional, industrial)Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflict and resolve issues promptlyWork Environment
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and being on-site for extended hours. Sometimes, weekend or evening work may be necessary depending on the project schedule. Travel to job sites located in and around the Indianapolis market and to the home office downtown, Indianapolis is required. Vehicle gas for travel beyond the assigned project is reimbursable. On-site presence is required 5 days per week, both inside and outside, typically in a trailer.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
