Construction Superintendent/Builder

David Weekley Homes is looking for enthusiastic professionals to play a pivotal role in building quality homes and providing an exceptional home-buying experience for our customers with our Indianapolis team.  This role requires a team player with excellent communication and focus on customer service. 

Job Responsibilities:

Planning, scheduling, and managerial oversight of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely and economical basisDirect and monitor the progress of multiple homes in various stages of construction concurrentlySchedule subcontractors and manage the quality of construction, productivity and compliance with building/safety codesManage trade/vendor relationships in order to build homes on schedule and close on time Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sitesCoordinate delivery and use of materials throughout the construction processComplete homes and all customer walk-through items prior to closingConduct weekly Home Buyer Meetings with customers in collaboration with the sales teamTrack and control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overrunsImplement knowledge of construction methods, regulations, contracts and blueprint readingPrepare daily, monthly & quarterly reports

Experience:

Prior experience in the home building or related industry is preferred.OR an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management or related degreesBasic computer proficiency required to handle job costing, payroll & communication with vendors & tradesKnowledge of Construction Practices and Terminology as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents preferred
