Job Description

We are searching for an experienced construction superintendent for community solar projects in Illinois. The role involves managing day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site, reporting directly to the Sr. Construction Manager, and ensuring the successful completion of construction projects.

ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations and administrative duties on site.Oversee the construction of community solar projects ranging from 1-2.5 MW.Report daily progress and safety updates to the Sr. Construction Manager.Manage sub vendors and coordinate with their foremen.Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subcontractors.Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and ensure it is met in coordination with the Sr. Construction Manager.Coordinate deliveries and equipment logistics with the team and subcontractors.Review project blueprints, plans, and specifics daily.Essential SkillsConstruction management experience in commercial electrical or civil projects.Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or extensive construction management experience.Ability to read blueprints and schematics.Experience managing sub vendors.Proficiency in PDF, Word, and Excel (Microsoft Office).OSHA 10 certification.OSHA 30 certification (can be arranged if expired).Additional Skills & QualificationsSolar project experience.Electrician or electrical experience.Work Environment

The work environment includes a solar construction site with a company trailer. The site will have various electrical and civil subcontractors. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Overtime must be approved by a supervisor and is not common in this role. The dress code requires construction attire, including jeans, a t-shirt, and proper PPE.
