The IA Distribution analytics department within USRM Insights & Solutions is actively searching for a highly motivated individual to join the team. This position will leverage analytics to provide leaders in the IA organization with insights and recommendations that drive key business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills necessary to procure and manipulate data, critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to identify trends and draw conclusions from that data, and the communication/influencing skills necessary to bring those conclusions to life. Examples of projects may include data analysis into Personal & Commercial Lines new business trends spanning US Retail Markets and Global Risk Solutions business units, sizing and measurement of technology investments and other strategic initiatives, and analytical support for ongoing critical agency programs.  In this role, you will:

 

Answer complex questions by synthesizing and analyzing data from diverse sourcesEvaluate and analyze results relative to expectation; understand, explain and communicate variances, and adapt solutions to reflect emerging insightPresents findings / recommendations which impact profitability, growth, and/or customer satisfactionMay lead discussions with senior leadership at the department or functional levelManage moderately complex to highly complex projects, while providing technical and analytical assessments of issues facing the businessUtilize more advanced statistical techniques to solve business problemsMay develop analytic tools used by others to do their jobs more effectively and guide decision-making

 

The ideal candidate will: 

Have strong technical aptitude with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and data analysis software (ex. Snowflake, SAS or SQL)Exhibit organizational, process, analytical, collaboration, decision-making, problem-solving and communication skillsBe proactive, autonomous and willing to influence others Qualifications Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 5 years, typically 7 or more years, of related experience required; Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study. Master's Degree preferred; advanced education may be substituted for years of experience (Ph.D. with no professional experience). Deep knowledge of data sources, tools and business drivers. Ability to apply advanced analytical concepts to improve business outcomes. Ability to build analytic tools that will be used by business teams to analyze results and opportunities. Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem). Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Ability to present data, visually and verbally, to guide conversations with business managers. About Us
