As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Solutions & Technology Group (STG) within Aon Reinsurance, in Toronto, Ontario (or work remotely). As a Consultant, you will report directly to the Director, Consulting.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from any of our offices in Canada.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like
Consulting:
+ Assist in the development of models and processes for companies transitioning to PathWise, ensuring smooth integration.
+ Provide innovative solutions to address inefficiencies and gaps within client systems.
+ Deliver hands-on training to PathWise users.
Research:
+ Develop and maintain actuarial and financial libraries for PathWise to enhance its functionality, including liability models, asset models, ALM libraries, regulatory reporting libraries, etc.
+ Contribute to the expansion and refinement of PathWise to continuously improve its usability and user experience.
Business Development:
+ Participate in product demonstrations for prospective clients.
+ Write industry research paper.
+ Attend industry conferences and deliver impactful presentation on relevant topics.
How this opportunity is different
STG provides high efficiency computing software, consulting services as well as advisory services to financial intermediaries, primarily insurance companies. STG’s high-performance software platform, PathWise™, provides companies with the ability to easily model financial obligations without involved coding and is run on Graphical Processing Units (GPU), making it the fastest, readily available software platform currently in use in the insurance industry. STG’s consulting services has focused primarily on actuarial analysis, reinsurance modeling and structing, reviews of hedging programs, and modeling of insurance liabilities and financial assets
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ 3+ years of experience in the life insurance industry in pricing/hedging/valuation/ALM roles.
+ Knowledge of US and Canadian reserves and capital requirements for the life insurance industry.
+ Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python and R.
+ Strong communication skills for extensive team and client interactions.
+ Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) or actively pursuing the fellowship credential in life/annuity or quantitative finance tracks.
Preferred Skillset
In-depth knowledge of equity-linked insurance products such as indexed and VA (seg-funds), FIA, RILA, UL, IUL, Par, etc. In-depth Knowledge of financial engineering such as derivative pricing and hedging. Prior experience with Canadian LICAT regulation, particularly in the context of seg-funds. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
