Privates/Alternatives Team
Job Summary
The HFS Privates/Alternatives team has a need to hire an Analyst for their team. The job involves working on a team for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a Global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The individual will collaborate with relevant partners (internal and external) and is responsible for day-to-day client fund administration on Private products, while providing support to the rest of the Privates team. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all information provided to clients. Interfaces with relationship staff, performance consultants and product staff to determine service requirements and developments. Oversees proper data maintenance and has final data quality assurance sign-off responsibilities prior to delivery of client reports. Technical expert on all major systems, private equity/debt asset classes.
Major Duties:
Performs assigned tasks to meet client’s daily and month-end deliverables and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. Lifecycle event processing on private investments. Processing investment activity for fund of fund investments (Hedge, Private Equity/Limited Partnerships, Real Estate, etc.). Knowledge of Limited Partnership Industry: Commitment Tracking (Funded/Unfunded), Capital Calls/Distributions, In kind distributions, etc. Oversees daily reconciliations and resolutions of data discrepancies or other issues between HFS Platform Works closely with Manager to ensure Process Controls are followed to mitigate risk and ensure timely and accurate completion of work. Prepares, delivers, and supports daily/ad hoc private product reports to HFS clients (where applicable) As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting to team and partners at a high technical level. Communicates with clients, the client’s counterparties and/or consultant on a regular basis. Interfaces with relationship staff, custody staff, performance consultants, partners, and clients to determine servicing requirements and problem-solving strategies. Keeps up to date with market conditions and developments to recognize and understand the private markets environment. Develops or completes special projects in designated areas of expertise.
Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills required, along with demonstrating problem resolution skills within context of own desk load of daily-serviced clients.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an extremely time sensitive conditions.Knowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial markets and instrumentsTechnical background in direct private investments/debt and/or fund of funds experience preferred.Highly flexible and adaptable to change.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Macros) and Bloomberg preferred.Experience required:
1-3 years of relevant proven work experience along with a bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.Related Industry qualification is preferred (i.e., MBA, CFA, CAIA)#LI-HYBRID#LI-CL1Working with Us:
