The Employment Tax Consultant ("Consultant") works with the team to identify tax savings opportunities and helps improve compliance for clients while gaining an understanding of how to prepare employment tax returns and how each component of the employment tax is computed. This includes researching issues, drafting memorandums, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The Consultant also provides administrative support for client engagements and contributes to the overall growth of the practice.Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

Create a positive team member experience.Client:
Travels to client locations to gather and copy tax returns and other documentation to use in client engagements.Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.Value:
Drafts filings, such as petitions for redetermination, refund claims, and various other administrative replies. Reviews documentation and researches issues.Works with raw data to complete calculations.Assists in refund recovery analysis.Provides certain administrative support for client engagements.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other degree with Master’s in Business Discipline or JD. Must have (12) Accounting hours with a 3.0 GPA or higher, a Major GPA of 3.25 or higher. Two to four years of employment tax-related experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet navigation and research. An intermediate level of experience with tax research tools (e.g., CCH) is also desired.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
• Standard indoor working environment.
• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm in person and via e-mail and telephone.
• Position requires regular interaction with clients and interface with external vendors in person and via e-mail and telephone.
• Independent travel requirement: Up to 10-20%.
