What Learning Development and Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health
Learning develops, deploys and evaluates learning solutions to support employee development and build organizational capability in alignment to business strategies. This function analyzes learning needs and develops training curricula, technologies, and programs. This function also manages trainings provided by third-parties and partners with leaders and subject matter experts within functions and business units to deliver learning.
Learning Development and Delivery provides instructor-led trainings and manages training processes to maximize the value that employees gain from learning solutions. This job family delivers training materials including presentations, guides and manuals, and course evaluations and coordinate training schedules based on training needs.
Position Summary
The consultant acts as a change agent and voice for employees and management by aligning business objectives with learning-related strategies and solutions. Relationship building with leadership and SMEs within the business unit and strong communication skills are a must as this position acts as a liaison between the business, the L&D Center of Excellence, and the larger HR organization. The consultant maintains an effective level of business literacy regarding financial position, strategy, midrange plans, culture, major initiatives and competition. The role assesses and anticipates learning needs to include, but not limited to: business functional, role-based, and systems training, onboarding, leadership, and professional development. The role of a learning leader requires both a background in L&D – to understand “what works” and business acumen – to understand “how” “what works” plays out in the organization.
Responsibilities
Establishes solid relationships with business leaders and SMEs to proactively identify performance gaps, recommend learning solutions, influence decision making, build and implement experiences that drive outcomesAnalyzes trends and metrics with business and acts as a consultant to develop solutions, programs, and policiesActs as the voice of the learner, provide learning guidance and offer suggestions on learning initiatives that align with business goals when strategizing and identifying resolutionsOffers input on goals, talent and succession planning and executive coaching needsActs as a project manager and communicates between the business and the COE on project timelines and outputsEstablishes and conducts routine meetings with respective business unit leadersMaintains L&D skill sets such as in-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and provides innovative solutions as well as partners with colleagues within the COE on learning strategy.Participates in training program reviews, monitors and evaluates with leadership to ensure that training objectives are metOwns and implements training programs for the businessQualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.4+ years experience in related field, preferred.Knowledge of and experience at conducting learning needs and skill gap analysisKnowledge of instructional design methodologiesKnowledge of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) a plusFacilitation experience (classroom and virtual)Consulting with clients in the US and outside of the US (cultural awareness)Strong project management, consulting, facilitation, influence and relationship management skillsProven track record of interacting with all levels of leadershipPassion for learning innovationDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and work with aggressive timeframesAbility to adapt to changing business needsHighly motivated, creative, self-sufficient, able to operate effectively with a teamAbility to operate with a sense of urgency, and willing to roll up sleeves, driving for results by set deadlinesWhat is expected of you and others at this level
