What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.
Job Summary
This role supports the Pharmaceutical Brand Products Team. The Consultant, Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing assists on sales operations over the counter products. This job develops a sales forecast by aligning results from sales (past trends) and marketing (future events) and presents findings, trends and reports in the Sales and Operations planning meetings. This job also facilitates Sales and Operations meetings and reaches alignment between demand and sales supply. In addition, this job generates monthly reports to communicate with management regarding supply and demand issues and develops excel files for the sales team tools to gather sales demand data.
Location
This role will be a hybrid position, 1 day in-office per week at the Dublin, OH headquarters.
Responsibilities
Performance monitoring for top suppliers/items (Brand volume ~$7B).Responsible for supply planning for a portfolio of top suppliers and their effect on our distribution centers, including the Brokerage Logistics Center (BLC) and customers.Monitor forecasts and supplier fill rates for assigned brand/brokerage portfolio.Maintain system parameters for assigned supplier portfolio such as order minimums, order days, lead time, order cycle, etc.Serve as primary Inventory/Purchasing contact for the Supplier and develop long term relationships to continually improve supply chain processes and meet our customer needs.Responsible for inventory health of portfolio as well as monitoring entire team’s for outliers.Oversee Brokerage service issues, holiday planning, and work collaboratively with the BLC.Analyzes month end brand inventory levels and can explain to Inventory leadership and Finance why inventory has increased/decreased month over month for top/impactful suppliers.Gathers data prepared by demand analysts, evaluates inventory levels and develops action plans to correct product supply.Accountable for primary metrics of Days of Inventory on Hand (DIOH) , Service Level, and Supplier Fill Rate.Leads projects that impact our primary metrics; independently manage project milestones to completion and work with a cross functional team to accomplish project goals.Collaborate with internal strategic partners to drive metric improvement.Utilize historical data and order projections to proactively obtain products or communicate issues to better service customers.Identify opportunities and build solutions for long-term change within Inventory Management.Build supplier relationships, interpret customer needs, and assess related business requirements.Resolves day-to-day or routine problems using defined processes.Embrace change and the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and concepts.Qualifications
3-5 years of inventory/end to end supply chain experience, preferredBachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferredExperience with purchasing systems preferred (SCORE, SAP, etc.)Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, financial acumen, and planning preferredProject management and strong organizational skillsUnderstanding of our Brokerage model a plusLean knowledge and Operational Excellence project creation and participation experience preferredStrong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools preferred (ex.
