Consultant, Traffic Engineering
**This Opportunity** WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Task Lead** to be located in Kentucky (Lexington, Louisville, Northern KY). Be involved in projects with our **Kentucky Traffic, Safety, and ITS Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The successful candidate should have experience working in groups and have a desire to participate in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, as the traffic, safety, and ITS Kentucky team works closely on projects across the Midwest. **Your Impact** + Lead project teams and direct subject matter experts, and third-party partners to design and implement ITS **(Intelligent Transportation Systems)** and system projects. + Support client management efforts for key market clients KYTC and identify new opportunities within the state and leverage that across the region. + Deliver quality projects on schedule and meet the budget and financial requirements established for the projects (both for the client as well as WSP). + Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight. + Prepare technical reports and cost estimates which include the creation of functional and technical specification documentation. + Manage work across multiple clients and projects simultaneously + Identify the best resources for engagement to address the client’s identified needs **Who You Are** Required Qualifications + 3-5 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Transportation Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. + Understands the purpose of each step of the System Engineering V Diagram + Knowledgeable of various ITS applications + Experience with programming of traffic signals + Understanding of detection technologies + Able to support ITS/Signals Design through guidance and reviews + Knowledgeable of ATMS platforms + Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. + Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills. + Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products. + The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications + Knowledgeable of KYTC processes and operations + Knowledgeable of big data applications and data uses + Knowledgeable of ATSPMs + Ability to support coding efforts to manipulate data + Ability to support design efforts with CAD + Background in a traffic operations center + Experience with conceptual plans, specifications, and proposal development. **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
