Technical Consultant Account Manager - Barco Control Room

 

We are currently hiring a Technical Consultant Account Manager for Barco’s Control Room business unit to support consultant partners throughout the EMEA region. We are looking for a person who has an understanding of Professional Audio-Video (AV) technologies and will become passionate about supporting the critical control room market.  The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining consultant relationships as well as documenting and tracking project opportunities. Target customers are AV/IT consultancies, security consultants, engineering firms, and specialty groups with the objective to build credibility for the Barco product lines and to get these best-in-class products specified into projects. The right candidate is solutions-oriented and can work autonomously with a good technical and market knowledge. We seek a Manufacturer Liaison with the ability to talk effectively in front of small and large crowds on technically-specific topics. Primary product lines include Barco’s LCD, LED, and rear projection video wall technologies as well as our video wall processing and operator workflow technologies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be a resource for assisting in designing control rooms visualization and collaboration systems, highlighting where Barco fits and excels in project requirements.  May also support non-control room video wall applications for the consultant and specifier community.

Collaborate with internal sales and engineering teams to strategize and communicate on consultant-driven projects. 

Knowledge of the complex selling environment in the AV and IT industries is a must.

Able to express technology and market thought leadership to build credibility with consultants.

Experience working with Salesforce.

Ability to build internal relationships across functional lines for design asssistance, project hand-off, and customer service/issue resolution.

Experience in gaining trusted advisor status, presenting to and understanding the value dynamics of the Consultant market.

Working knowledge of project ERP and bid processess

 

Requirements:

Industry Certifications a plus (e.g., AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, Cisco CCNA, etc.)

At least 7+ years in the ProAV and/or control room market

Served in similar consultant-focused role for 2+ years (or equivalent experience of interaction with consultants and specifiers)

Cybersecurity knowledge and experience

Engineering/Technical Degree or additional years of applicable experience

Self-starter and technically-minded

Highly responsive and customer-oriented

Ability to travel throughout EMEA (approximately 25%)
