What You Will Do:

Our team helps utilities and energy companies, federal/state/local governments, and commercial entities as the industry rapidly transitions to one that is more decentralized, requires cleaner fuel supply, increased reliability, and improved resilience. We use analytics to advise our clients on decarbonization strategies, forecast the adoption of distributed energy resources, understand the impact of customer energy programs (including energy efficiency, building and transportation electrification, load management), and more.

As a member of the Analytics team supporting Guidehouse’s Energy, Sustainability & Infrastructure segment, you will have an opportunity to perform a range of analytics-related activities supporting model development and client projects. You will work with varied and complex data sets, complete analysis tasks using appropriate methodologies, and effectively communicate technical findings.

We are looking for someone with a passion for creative problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.  In this role, you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed. Key responsibilities for this position may include:

Analyze large and complex data setsDevelop models leveraging statistical analysis, regression modeling, optimization, predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning, economic modelsProgram (Python, R) and use source code version control technologies (Git)Conduct research and analysis on energy-related activitiesInterpret and communicate the implications of technical findings to non-technical internal and external audiencesContribute to report development, presentations and client requestsAbility to manage time and tasks independently Ability to work effectively with teams; work independently as needed

What You Will Need:

Minimum Years of Experience: 0 yearsMinimum Degree Pursued: Bachelor’s or Masters Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in 2024 and graduate by Summer of 2025)Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the countryNo sponsorship is available for this position

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Academic Backgrounds Preferred: Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, Operations Research, Economics, Environmental Engineering/Science, Computational Physics or other analytics degreeKnowledge of analytical models, methods, applications and tools, such as statistical analysis, regression modeling, predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning and selecting and applying the right analytical techniquesAnalyzing large and complex data sets, with strong aptitude for conducting quantitative analysisProficiency in one or several programming languages, such as Python or RPassion for clean energy transition including energy efficiency and conservation, transportation and building technologies, solar/storage, decarbonization, resilienceProficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and slide presentation softwareExperience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environmentPossesses strong oral and written communication skillsHeightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentationsAbility to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving themAbility to participate in client-facing discussions and meetingsAbility to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills

The annual salary range for this position is $71,800.00-$107,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
