What You Will Do:

Guidehouse provides comprehensive and customer-centric solutions for clean energy programs including energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, energy storage, renewable energy, and sustainability programs. We help our clients visualize and identify market opportunities for clean energy programs and then work with them to build and strengthen those programs.

We partner with our clients to design and deliver transformational programs, evaluate and optimize program contributions towards climate, energy, and other goals, and continuously improve the program experience for customers.  As our clients are often large with complex systems, the Consultants must demonstrate considerable potential to have the poise, independence, and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in the client environment.  We encourage career development and hiring for the long term.

Key responsibilities for this position may include:

Data analysis, technical engineering reviews, power systems modeling, and/or primary data collectionFact-finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activitiesFamiliarity with or ability to quickly grasp various transmission planning concepts, practices and procedures, and ability to apply Transmission Planning reliability criteria to perform analysisAssist with power systems analysis including transmission planning feasibility studies, System Impact Studies and Generator Interconnection StudiesHelp perform Steady State, Dynamic Stability Simulation, Voltage Stability Simulation, and Short Circuit AnalysisResearch thermal overloads and help recommend mitigations / transmission upgradesCommunicating solutions and new strategies to clients and stakeholders

What You Will Need:

Must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to nature of client engagementsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or power systems engineering (Must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in 2024 and graduate by Summer of 2025)Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years Ability to travelAbility to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Preference will be given to candidates within reasonable driving distance of a Guidehouse Office or Client Office locationAdvanced degree in electrical engineering or power systems engineering from an accredited university or college.Course work and/or internships utilizing one or more of the following power system engineering tools: PSLF, POWERWORLD Simulator, PSSE, ASPEN, TARA, CAPE, DSA Tools, PSCAD or EMTPAbility to code and knowledge of coding languages such as R, Python, VA, SQLAnalytical backgroundPossesses strong oral and written communication skillsHeightened attention to detailAn inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$113,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
