The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Microelectronics Center pushes the boundaries of innovation.  It redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies and drives advancements in systems and the sciences.  One of our most challenging fields of development is in Microelectronics Design and Applications.  You will be part of a team consisting of a broad array of scientists and engineers working to make these novel solutions a reality.

The candidate will architect a scalable microelectronics system, leading the overall design and development effort for both analog and digital designs. The successful candidate will be a forward thinker who provides technical leadership to multiple sub-teams to ensure success of the overall effort. Candidate travel will be required when necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

Architect a scalable system to meet our end goal and define interim steps to achieve it.Interface between classified and unclassified teams to keep the development efforts aligned.Lead the overall design and development effort for analog and digital designs.Interface with test engineering, systems engineering, theory, and software efforts to ensure successful experiments.Facilitate and run technical leadership workshops as needed.Interface with the chief engineers on the other MDA programs to ensure that mutual benefit without duplication of effort.Attend design reviews and weekly meetings, contributing experience and insight to ensure success on experiments.Visit and coordinate with team members who work at other sites.Deliver efficient and effective communication of design and architecture to hardware and software design engineers.Write reports for waypoint completion or gap reports.Mentor and engineers and other staff members.

This position requires the candidate to report on-site in Linthicum, MD and Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant technology field (STEM degree) with 20 plus years of relevant experience; Master's Degree in Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant technology field (STEM degree) with 18 plus years of related experience years with an MS; 15 plus years of relevant experience with a PhD)Significant knowledge of analog and digital design principlesUnderstanding of digital system architecturesBroad experience leading technical teamsMust be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

RQL design experience with knowledge of underlying physicsExperience in software design and developmentASIC design experience (design and layout)Knowledge of Process Development Kits (PDKs)A PhD in a related fieldActive TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

Salary Range: $213,400.00 - $320,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
