Kent is looking for a Consulting Director, Americas to be based in Houston, TX.
You will oversee business development and project execution for consulting services within Kent’s Engineering & Consulting Americas business unit. This is a direct report role to the Vice President – Engineering & Consulting Americas, and collaboration with the Engineering & Consulting Americas team consisting of the Hull, Mooring & Wind Director, the Engineering Director, the Commercial Director and Support Functions in HR and Finance.Skills and Responsibilities: Work with the Vice President – Engineering & Consulting Americas, and the Engineering & Consulting Americas team to develop and implement a strategy for growth and sustained businessLead a Consulting BD team consisting of members representing the current consulting disciplines of Process, Safety and Structures and including participation from the Hull, Mooring & Wind and Commercial groupsDevelop a One Kent team culture for broadening the Consulting services offering and disrupting siloed offeringsCollaborate with the Engineering Director and HR to define Consulting capability growth requirementsLead the development of Consulting proposals and provide QA/QC on Consulting projectsParticipate and engage in project tasks to maintain and strengthen client relationships (leading by example)Target and participate in industry events/conferences to market Kent Consulting (and overall) capabilitiesEnsure all Consulting projects and contracts successfully meet quality, cost, schedule, and client satisfactionDevelop and implement remediation plans to prevent poor project financial performance and client dissatisfactionLiase with global Kent to understand our full internal capabilities and build relationships for cooperative utilization of resourcesLiaise with the Engineering & Consulting Americas team in all aspects to ensure smooth operations of the groupExhibit and promote the Kent Safety Culture
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering20+ years experience and competency in management of design engineering and technical consulting delivery
Communication:Develop good understanding of global capabilities and keep up with capability expansion in other parts of KentKeep other parts Kent informed of current and new capabilities on routine basisUnderstand how other groups in Kent execute projects (always seeking new ideas), and share own project execution experiences
