Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Modeling/ Simulation Consulting Engineer for the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) program within the Launch Vehicles business unit. This position is located at the Northrop Grumman facility in Fairfax, VA

This position reports to the Launch Vehicles Business Unit Guidance Navigation and Control Department and works in concert with GNC Management, Program GNC Lead and Program Chief Engineer to execute program and department technical objectives.  As a Modeling and Simulation expert, you will conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis studies across multi-domain mission threads, kill-chain initiatives, develop performance models, and algorithms to perform system-of-systems trades and assess architecture alternatives for delivering an effect, data, or capability within a broader mission.

Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis studies across multi-domain mission threads, company kill-chain initiatives, and concept architectures.

Develop and integrate system simulation solutions, performance models, and algorithms to perform system-of-systems trades and assess architecture alternatives for delivering an effect, data, or capability within a broader campaign.

Contribute to the development and implementation of a Modeling and Simulation Roadmaps for the program that includes recommendations for MS&A tools/infrastructure, processes and strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires 16+ Years of related experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics; 14+ Years with Masters; 12+ Years with PhD.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope

Experience in Weapons Systems to include design, simulation, and performance prediction

Experience with integrated system and broad technical judgement.

Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system modeling and simulation processes.

U.S Citizenship.

Ability to travel 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

This position requires a MS degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics plus 20 (twenty) years of related experience is preferred. 

Familiarity with the MDA organization and its methods of technical execution and review.

Experience with multiple types of launch platforms.

Experience with hypersonic weapons, and command and control technology

Experience with AEGIS weapon system

Salary Range: $206,900.00 - $310,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
