Role

Juniper Networks has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective, and motivated Consulting Sales Engineer to join the System Engineering team supporting the Service Provider business in Melbourne. 

This position will provide the right candidate with an outstanding opportunity to work on leading-edge technology, including carrier-grade network infrastructure, Telco cloud-based platforms, and mobile and broadband subscriber systems, in some of Australia's most advanced network deployments.

This position reports to the Systems Engineering Director, ANZ. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop opportunities and drive sales of Juniper solutions into large Service Provider accounts.

Description

Typical Skills

You will partner with account teams and lead other SEs to bring the best solutions to our customers and foster long-term, trusted business relationships. These are some of Juniper Networks' most critical customer relationships in the APAC region.  Communicate key issues and advise customers on short- and long-term product directions so that they can make the best decisions possible for their digital transformation.  Deliver compelling presentations, scope, and develop Juniper solutions and corresponding business cases to promote Juniper's products and solutions to customers and partners.  Introduce cutting-edge and competitive processes and systems to provide quick yet thorough responses to customer Requests for Proposals (RFP).  With sales staff, assess the potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for developing and implementing customer products/applications/solutions.  Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). Assemble appropriate technical resources to meet assigned customer requirements. Champion and evangelize Juniper’s cutting-edge experience-first and self-driven infrastructure solutions.

What you bring to the table

Possess a proficient understanding of the pre-sales engineering process and the sales processes applied to large Service Provider accounts. Amazing presentation skills and the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to various audiences, including executive-level technical decision-makers. Foster customer relationships as a trusted advisor. Significant experience in road shows, press and analyst briefings. Technical sales leadership for major opportunities, large tender responses and hands-on expertise for customer demonstrations or trials. A strong network of relationships outside of own area of expertise; focus on networking opportunities likely to be of considerable strategic or long-term value. Strategic sales strategy building at the account/deal level. 12+ years of related pre-sales and technical sales experience with a vendor.

Practical Requirements

An Australian citizen or eligible for Australian permanent residence. Knowledge of industry-based solutions, including network architectures, cloud-based solutions and security architectures. Detailed systems engineering experience in key SP network technology domains, including Telco-cloud-based VNF solutions. Must have technical sales experience working with Account Executives and have a strong background in selling advanced networking & security solutions to meet customer business needs. Relevant Juniper certifications or other industry certificates are beneficial. Ideally, these will provide advanced knowledge across Juniper SP products and cloud solutions.   Equivalent knowledge of, and experience with other vendor’s equipment will be considered, including non-Juniper certifications. The candidate must demonstrate extensive experience designing and selling complex solutions in the SP infrastructure segment.
