The Consumables Engineering Intern is responsible for designing Cepheid’s consumable components, ensuring manufacturability, and verifying functional performance as components are assembled into Cartridges This onsite position is part of the greater Manufacturing Engineering Team and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Qualify new injection molded parts + Conduct design of experiments to characterize consumables + Learn about the life cycle and manufacturing of medical devices The essential requirements of the job include: + Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science or Biomedical) + Self-motivated to analyze, interpret data for troubleshooting + Willing to learn new concepts, methods, technologies, products, and tools Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + Ability to lift 10 to 20 lbs. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Conducting experience in research labs + Corporate experience in regulated industries The hourly rate for this role is $30.
