Consumer Credit Risk Management Risk Manager

Consumer Credit Risk Management (CCRM) is a 2nd line function whose mission is to protect the resilience of Capital One’s portfolio by governing credit risk. We are seeking a well-rounded associate to join our high-performing organization of credit risk experts as a Manager-level Risk Manager focused on strong management of the Credit Risk Inventory (also known as Risk ID) for the company.

This highly visible role will partner with Enterprise Risk Management, Divisional Credit Officers and Credit Advisors, senior credit risk management leaders within and outside of CCRM, and key stakeholders across all lines of business to:

Manage the quarterly credit risk inventory update process

Advise lines of business on the applicability of risks and corresponding control expectations

Provide and support 2nd line governance and effective challenge

Ensure transparency and appropriate consistency across the various business lines

Perform credit risk category aggregation and quarterly reporting submissions to the Chief Credit and Financial Risk Officer, Enterprise Risk Committee and/or Risk Committee of the Board

Support / strengthen appropriate control infrastructure for the credit risk inventory

Engage with the 3rd line as needed to facilitate reviews of the process and resolve related findings or issues

Influence at Director+ and senior management levels to effect change and achieve congruous desired outcomes

In addition to credit risk inventory responsibilities, this position will also support CCRM’s well-managed agenda more broadly through the assignment of BAU responsibilities and ad hoc projects, which may include:

Managing the quarterly Credit Risk Assessment in partnership with Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics 

Engaging in the annual Risk Appetite review and renewal

Overseeing Information Data Management policy compliance as a Business Area Information Manager

Ensuring compliance to a variety of well-managed requirements through activities like:

Executing on the annual Model Inventory and Computation & Automation Inventory attestations

Engaging on 3rd line and Regulatory reviews involving the Credit Policy Management team

Assisting with completing compliance activities in partnership with Enterprise Risk Management and/or the Risk Management Risk Team.

Basic Qualifications:  

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 5 years of risk management, audit, credit review or compliance experience

At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients, including senior leader engagement

At least 3 years of experience working in financial services

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of consumer credit risk management experience

4+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations for senior leadership

2+ years of experience with technical writing
