GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Consumer Insights Researcher executes consumer research projects, perform various analyses on research data (especially survey data), consult with internal clients using insights, and generally support the mission of the research function to empower the organization to make data-driven decisions. Candidate should be comfortable collaborating across functions but also executing tasks independently. 

Day to day tasks will vary but may include: working with internal stakeholders to define learning objectives, programming questionnaires in specialized software, analyzing survey data in software or Excel, creating presentation materials and data visualizations, influencing executives to take action based on your insights, partnering with technical colleagues to automate data flows, documenting processes and plans to guide internal programs. 

Valuable but not required:

Hands-on experience with Qualtrics, including programming surveys, manipulating crosstabs in platform, and building dashboards. 

Experience with advanced survey analyses like conjoint, clustering, factor analysis, TURF. 

Experience scaling research programs in large enterprises, including data automation, dashboard maintenance, data democratization, change management. 

Advanced communication and storytelling skills. 

Some exposure to predictive modeling, large language models, and working with data scientists. 

Experience with brand measurement, CX measurement, product testing, employee research. 

Client-facing consulting experience in a research or analytics role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and design primary quantitative research that will generate insights about the market and customer fit of new concepts, products and services.

Identify the key questions associated with developing, designing and refining all aspects of business and product development, and recommend the right research methodologies to answer them.

Design and launch surveys that will generate insights to inform product development, including testing and optimizing concepts, defining the appropriate customer target market, etc. using both traditional and innovative quantitative research techniques. Analyze research results, prepare report summaries and share research insights with project leads and other colleagues to help guide and refine the development of concepts, products and services.

Establishes, fosters and maintains working relationships with peers and others within Bancorp/LOB Finance teams, markets and potentially all lines of business.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Business or other related discipline. Advanced degrees preferred, but not required.

Typically requires minimum of 3 years work experience.

Database and analytical experience required.

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Ability to effectively manage time.

Independent and highly self-motivated.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
