Consumer Loan Processor
About The Role Establishes loan files and orders documentation required to process loans. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation. Processes consumer loan files after closings to ensure that documents are recorded with proper recording authority and the loans are entered correctly into company records. Inputs loan documents into online system, processes loan payoffs, and maintains loan files. Provides general administrative support for the work unit. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare documents as authorized by lending officers to properly secure different types of loans and extensions. Prepare documents for new, renewed, and extended loans. Prepare all collateral documents e.g., changes of collateral, transfers of equity, lien filings, and deeds of trust and updates files and records of customers internally and with the State and County as appropriate. Prepare loan file with all appropriate documentation. Track all required information needed to complete loan files. Input and review data for accuracy into the consumer loan operating system to generate the necessary loan documents and disclosures. Review the credit file for adequate disclosures timelines and check that all necessary documentation has been collected. Verify the fees are correct and the file has been properly coded with all pertinent exception codes, if any, accurate FHLB coding has also been completed. Assist officer in the preparation of information for the loan committee and in the preparation of loan officer comments to the loan file. Prepare information for disbursement when loans closed. Process loan information and debit/credit forms to be entered on books and on computer system. Order the appropriate real estate evaluations, such as Current Market Analysis, Appraisal, or Automated Valuation Reports necessary to process loans. Order credit reports and income/employment verifications, request titles and lien search, and process credit verification requests. Adhere to loan scanning procedures and policies for adherence to separation of duties and quality control of the pertinent loan file documents. Correctly identify the proper documents for indexing. Perform file maintenance to ensure quality control of documents and processes. Maintain a tickler system to ensure that all steps in the loan application and monitoring process are completed in a timely manner. Monitor and adjust tax and insurance reserves as needed. Provide administrative support for loan department by responding to routine inquiries for consumer loan account balances and payoff amounts and greeting walk-in customers. Perform notaries as needed. Maintain files for the loan department. About You QUALIFICATIONS: Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Banking experience preferred. A high school degree or GED is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Skills in areas related to computer operation/use including working knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new systems/applications. Demonstrate soft phone skills by treating all internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency. Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes. WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
