Position Purpose Handles the general ledger, income statement, accounts, and transactions. Analyzes and explains the variances, between Plan and Real of the accounts in the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Assure the integrity of financial statements and the record of transactions in the properly accounting period, are activities vital for taking financial decisions. Primary Accountabilities + Coordinate and manage the payment process for new store construction expense, including reviewing the invoices, draws, change orders etc. Review, manage and control the closeout process for new stores, including receiving infomation from the General Contracto / construction coordinator, validate with the construction team, post the final invoice in the system. + Creation and implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls as required to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and timely. Automate manual process to streamline invoice posting and review process + Verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies, reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities + Coordinate needed approvals, verify information and submit the complete package to the Store dev controller to be scheduled for payment, coordinate with AP team for cashflow requirements + Coordinate the expense review, validating that are properly approved and recorded in accordance with the Spending Level of Authorization, Mexican Financial Reporting Standards and USGAAP Principles. + Assists manager with special projects or ad-hoc analysis when it is required and coordinate in conjunction with the store dev departament the requirements of the external audit for US and MEX GAAP. Education & Experience Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Area of Study: Accounting (MEX/US GAAP, IFRS) Years of Experience: Three to five years. Type of Experience: General accounting experience with preference in shared service centers and retail industry. Special Certifications or Technical Skills: CP, Mexico GAAP experience, ERP. Other/Preferred: Experience in a multinational environment and knowledge of accounting rules in both Mexico and US. Intermediate to advanced computer and english skills.
