The Cedar Rapids Community School District is on the lookout for a Content Communications Specialist who loves content marketing and storytelling! This role is all about transforming district news and updates into engaging, educational, and visually compelling content that resonates with our community. From turning blog posts into eye-catching infographics to crafting mini-series and social media stories, you’ll bring our district’s mission and values to life in new, exciting ways. Key Responsibilities: + Content Strategy & Creation: Craft content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and district publications. You’ll tailor each piece to meet our audience’s needs and guide them through the marketing funnel. + Dynamic Content Marketing: Think outside the box! Repurpose content creatively, like transforming blog posts into infographics or thematic stories related to district happenings. + Social Media & Storytelling: Publish content that sparks engagement. Use stories, infographics, and other formats to build connections with our community. + Collaboration: Work closely with staff, cross-functional teams, and marketing experts to keep content aligned with district goals. + Analytics & Optimization: Keep an eye on engagement metrics, tweak strategies as needed, and ensure our content is hitting the mark. + Audience Understanding: Create content that not only informs but also educates and inspires, reaching both internal and external audiences. Qualifications: + Associate degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field (or 2-3+ years of relevant experience). + A knack for social media content creation, blogging, and content marketing. + Ability to break down complex information into visual, bite-sized content. + Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail. + Eager to continuously learn and grow in the field. + Thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to new challenges. Preferred Skills: + Familiarity with content scheduling tools, analytics platforms, and SEO best practices. + A plus if you have graphic design experience! Proposed temp-to-hire hourly range: $21.63 to $26.44Proposed salary range: $50,000-$60,000 + great benefits!
