Content Creation Specialist
Support Center - Irving

The Content Creation Specialist will assist the Manager with in-house organic content creation. We’re looking for an enthusiastic creative to be the face and voice behind Michaels’ social channels. This individual will create organic content from production to distribution and be experienced in concept pitching, execution, video editing, and be comfortable in front of the camera. The role includes managing outsourced social initiatives for various campaigns. This Team Member will work closely with Influencer Marketing, Communications, Digital/Social, and Store Operations teams to ensure timely program success.

Major Activities

Develop and execute content for all social channels, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.Plan, schedule, and publish weekly content, ensuring consistency with brand messaging and marketing initiatives.Engage with the online community, responding to comments and messages to look out for reshare opportunities.Ideate, film, edit, and optimize video content, leveraging viral trends and real-time engagement opportunities.Collaborate with social and brand marketing teams to develop content that enhances campaign performance.Monitor and analyze weekly social media trends, providing insights and recommendations to the social and influencer teams.Design visually compelling graphics for IG Stories, in-feed posts, and other digital formats using graphic design tools.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Expertise with social platform mechanics and best practicesVideography and Photography skillsVideo, photo, and graphic editing skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

2-4 years marketing experience or a related fieldRetail marketing background

Ability to organize and execute multiple projectsWillingness to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent written & oral communication skills, with an ability to determine appropriate content & style for a diverse groupNeed to be very organized and detail drivenHave a love for arts, crafts, and making!

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or related field
