Lifeway is seeking a Content Editor. The Content Editor  for Bibles & Reference is responsible for editing Bibles and Bible reference books and ensuring the theological integrity of content. Contributes commentary, content and translation support to authors and partners across Lifeway.

This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 

 

 

Responsibilities Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom workReviews and edits Bibles, commentary, and reference books to ensure theological alignment, logical flow, biblical and historical accuracy. Contributes commentary, content and translation support to authors to help structure manuscripts. Capable of rewriting original manuscript submission to be consistent with original concept. Support and supplement the development of Bibles and commentaries by contributing to vision casting and concept development. Cultivates relationships with acquired authors and contributors to strengthen partnerships and productivity. Manage projects, timelines, assignments, duties and progress to ensure that key stakeholder commitments are fulfilled by critical deadlines. Contribute to internal committees, cross-functional projects and represents Lifeway at industry, denominational and public events.   

 

Qualifications

Education

Graduate Degree - Biblical Studies, Greek and Hebrew translations

Editing - 3 yrsProject coordination - 3 yrsHebrew, Greek, translation theory and exegesis - 3 yrProject Coordination - Intermediate Written and Verbal Communication - Intermediate Editing and Proofreading - Advanced Knowledge of Bible Translation and Theology - Advanced Relationship Building and Networking - Intermediate Organizational Skills - Intermediate Team Collaboration - Intermediate Digital Literacy - Intermediate Customer Focus - Intermediate Hebrew and Greek Translation Theory - Advanced 

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church
