Content Editor – Healthcare Publishing

LOCATION: Hybrid (8 days a month in the Philadelphia PA office).
OVERVIEW
You will screen manuscripts for publication. You will collaborate with editors, clinical editors, and freelance editors on changes in style, content, and format. You will work closely with a more senior editor. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Content Editing (HLRP).
RESPONSIBILTIES
Collaborating with stakeholders and freelancers to define deliverables and product plans.Working with the Content Managing Editor and other members of the content team to develop and manage the content budget and assess for cost savings.Adhering to the editorial workflow schedules to ensure on-time content delivery.Evaluating editorial content quality and providing feedback to the freelance editorial team.Editing content, as needed to ensure editorial style and WK diversity, equity, and inclusion standards are incorporated into our content.Delegating assignments to freelance editorial staff members and overseeing their progress.Managing assigned product deliverables to ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.Exporting content from the content management system, monitoring XML and HTML output from the content management system, uploading assigned content to the designated pre-deployment platform, overseeing the quality control of assigned content, and making editorial and coding corrections in collaboration with the Content Managing Editor.Collaborating with the Content Managing Editor to ensure timely content, asset, and release plan delivery to the Content Operations team.Evaluating workflow processes to identify inefficiencies and reporting them to the Content Managing Editor to support a culture of continuous quality improvement.Reporting improvement opportunities, solutions, and progress to the Content Managing Editor.QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College degree (BA/BS) in English, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Experience in content editing and management, including experience with HTML, XML, and content management systems. Experience in the healthcare or clinical publishing industry preferred.

Experience in editorial skills.Ability to track and manage multiple projects.Experience in time and resource utilization.Familiarity with digital product development processes and practices.Ability to edit in a content management system.Familiarity using Microsoft Office software.Ability to develop market knowledge quickly.Experience with collaborating across teams in a fast-paced publishing environment.Preferred:
General knowledge of the healthcare and nursing market.Familiarity with healthcare publishing.Experience with various content technology modalities and leveraging workflow efficiencies with such tools.TRAVEL: < 5% for occasional meeting
