Content Management Intern (Summer-Fall 2025)

A brighter future is possible with _you_ . **Job Summary** The Marketing & Communications team is seeking a creative and analytical university student to serve as the **Content Management Intern,** primarily supporting employee communications. The position is **full-time for the Summer 2025 semester and part-time for the Fall 2025** semester. This is a hybrid position with at least 60% of working time spent at Battelle’s offices in **Columbus, Ohio** . In alignment with corporate and business unit strategies, the Content Management Intern will assist the employee communications team with a variety of areas including planning, developing and implementing innovative and engaging employee communication tactics that encourage employee curiosity and discussions about our business and help improve engagement, performance, recruitment, and retention. Daily activities will include supporting the migration and implementation of a modern employee content management platform and the planning and development of digital content to engage employees and showcase Battelle as an employer of choice. Qualified candidates will have a blend of creative, technical and personal interaction skills that allow them to successfully coordinate the delivery of content across various digital channels. Additionally, candidates must have an attention to detail, strong communication skills, a collaborative work ethic, and the ability to apply critical thinking to solve challenges. **Responsibilities** + Support the development and implementation of a new SharePoint-based corporate intranet by migrating content to the new platform, building new pages and content, supporting the creation of new workflows and processes, and conducting quality assurance testing, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Assist with the research, writing, editing and delivery of communications tactics that may include news stories, articles, videos, internal social media, and other messaging through the appropriate communications channels. + Create original, brand-appropriate content that provides the necessary levels of context, clarity, and consistency and links to Battelle’s strategic priorities while engaging the targeted audience. + Assist with employee engagement activities and events including participation in event planning meetings, preparation of event materials and working at events. + Identify creative opportunities to reach employee engagement through new tools or approaches. + Ensure content meets brand voice and style guidelines. **Key Qualifications** + Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a closely related field of study, with the completion of at least two years of college coursework. + Must have high-level verbal and written communication skills. + Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Prior experience with content management systems, preferably SharePoint and Microsoft 365, and an understanding of UX and web accessibility requirements is highly desirable. + A flair for creative writing, communications planning skills and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment. + Must be a U.S. citizen **Preparing You for Career Success** The Battelle intern and co-op program is a great way to increase experience both on a team and as an independent contributor.
