Continuous Improvement Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing process enhancements within the manufacturing and operational environment. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, eliminate inefficiencies, optimize workflows, and streamline operations to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall business performance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES): • Lead Lean and Six Sigma transformation projects from planning to execution • Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement Lean methodologies to streamline processes • Apply tools such as Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, SMED, and Six Sigma techniques to drive measurable improvements • Function as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization • Engage employees in process improvement efforts by conducting training sessions and workshops • Conduct root cause analysis using problem-solving methodologies like A3, 8D, PDCA, and Six Sigma • Utilize data analytics tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, Visio) to measure process performance and track improvement impact • Establish tracking systems to ensure improvements are sustained over time • Strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills • Assist in audit, compliance, and regulatory-related efforts as necessary • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies in all process improvements • Attend training as needed or assigned • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or science-related field or bachelor’s degree and 5 years of continuous improvement experience • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, process improvement, continuous improvement, or industrial engineering • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training required (certification preferred) with proven expertise in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, workflow analysis, and efficiency improvements. Experience with time studies, MTM, line balancing, automation, OEE, and capacity analysis preferred. • Firsthand experience with Kanban, logistics, supply chain, and material flow optimization preferred • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using methodologies such as A3, 8D, PDCA, SPC, DFM, DOE, and controlled studies • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, Visio, and other process improvement software • Ability to develop standard work procedures, process maps, and improvement roadmaps • Experience working with engineering drawings and specifications • Familiarity with ISO standards, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and compliance regulations is a plus • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive process improvement initiatives • Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions • Willingness to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and services Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities SHIFT/SITE: Monday-Friday Office Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm 301 Woods Park Drive, Clinton, NY WAGE DISCLOSURE: The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
