Continuous Improvement Engineer

We are excited to open a position for a Continuous Improvement Engineer! This position will be located onsite at our Corporate Headquarters in Evansville, IN. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, training, and deployment of the Corporate continuous improvement program across the business, including manufacturing and transactional operations. This position will deliver practical training to associates to eliminate waste in manufacturing, supply chain, and administrative functions. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the continuous improvement strategy and tools to be deployed across all functions. Partner with key operation functions in the plant to identify opportunities, present ideas, and implement solutions to improve the overall equipment performance while maximizing installed capacity across all operations. Lead and facilitate training in lean principles for manufacturing operations. Organize and facilitate kaizen events, focusing on critical processes. Lead complex, strategic, cross-functional projects yielding improvements and savings year over year. Work with Operations to define and develop a production system based on SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost), metrics and deliverables. Develop in partnership with the operations teams an annual plan to improve safety, delivery, quality, and cost using tools such as strategic deployment methodology, problem solving (8D, A3’s), OEE, SMED, TPM, 5S, VSM’s among others.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

At least 10 years of progressive experience in Lean/Six Sigma and manufacturing practical experience, preferably in a process-oriented operation and/or related industrySix Sigma Certified (Black Belt preferred)Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor indirectlyLean manufacturing certified/trained. Experience in: 5S, Standard work, TPM, SMED, Problem Solving (8D,5W, A3), Kan Ban. VSM’s, etc.  Collaboration Skills Project Management Communication Proficiency Decision MakingDemonstrated ability to anticipate and initiate idea generation
