Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description

We are hiring a Process Engineer within an Automotive Assembly OEM focused on the final assembly of vehicles. The role involves using M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas, achieving high process efficiency, and applying lean manufacturing techniques. The goal is to design simple processes that meet SQCDM targets.

ResponsibilitiesAudit big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations Standards. Utilize Excel formulas and VBA coding to optimize tasks.Regularly lead meetings with functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes related to Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics.Perform time estimates for assembly line work, equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards.Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency by applying 5S work methods, workstation design, and setting best practices for production.Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.Support New Model Events by forecasting design impact to the department and incorporating change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasures before mass production.Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layouts.Develop plans and schedules for projects, set timelines and detailed activities, and hold meetings with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.Provide project support for all items impacting the Assembly department’s Associate Process.Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.Read parts drawings, specification notices, and 3D CATIA data.Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or 6 years’ equivalent work experience.Process improvement or continuous improvement experience (2 years).Root Cause Analysis.Experience with automotive suppliers.Proficiency in CATIA, M.O.S.T., workstation design, Excel, and VBA.Additional Skills & QualificationsCo-op/Internship experience in a manufacturing setting.Work Environment

This role operates within an automotive manufacturing setting. Work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with potential overtime until 3:30 PM or 4:30 PM. The job requires spending 30% of the time on the floor and 70% behind a desk. It is a 100% on-site role, with occasional weekend work for special projects (5-10 weekends a year). Employees receive 1 week of PTO up front, 8 paid holidays, and shutdown pay during the week of July 4th and Christmas. If working on special projects during shutdown, employees will receive double time pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
