Continuous Improvement Intern Scot Forge Company is looking to hire a Continuous Improvement Intern for the Summer of 2025 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. A continuous improvement internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the continuous improvement efforts of a manufacturing environment. This intern will be supporting the continuous improvement team through their daily tasks and projects. This Program Offers: + Paid Compensation + Professional Career Development and Mentoring + Real World Problem Solving + Meaningful Project Work + Collaborative Work Environment Anticipated Projects include: + Apply industrial engineering methods to drive process improvements on the shop floor utilizing time studies, process mapping, and lean manufacturing. + Collaborating with the IT team and Continuous Improvement team on developing process measurements and automated metrics throughout the manufacturing floor. + Participate in and support shop floor projects focused on enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and optimizing processes. + Collect, analyze, and interpret data to contribute to informed decision-making and improvement actions. + Support compliance with safety regulations and standards while learning about process improvement. Qualifications: Required Skills + Minimum Sophomore standing in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field. + Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Optimization initiatives. + Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including 5S and Kaizen, preferred. + Exposure to Solidworks or other CAD/CAM software. + Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Skills + Certifications in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, and/or Safety Compliance + Effective collaborator with strong communication skills Additional Requirements + Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship + Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.
