 If you are a Continuous Improvement Professional looking for an opportunity to grow and shape the future of a business, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you!  As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you would be supporting the business in constantly looking at ways to perform more efficiently. You would analyze processes and make recommendations, work with cross-functional teams to recognize opportunities and implement sustainable improvements.

Copeland is seeking a highly competent continuous improvement professional who uses a variety of skills such as project design, leadership, and influence to ensure process development and improved outcomes. This person will be responsible for using Lean Six Sigma principles to drive improvement initiatives and operational excellence. This role would expand beyond manufacturing processes, working with project management and operations to make improvements across the organization.

As A Continuous Improvement Specialist – Industrial You Will:

Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reductionPlanning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma toolsTeaching, leading, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologyWorking to continuously improve transactional and production processes by collaborating with multiple functions Clearly defining program objectives and scopeEvaluating and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains and required effortSecuring employee commitment (ex: process managers) for proactive change managementEstablishing a clear and well-articulated implementation planEstablishing criteria for the project’s success and preparing a sound statement of constraints/limiting factorsFirm implementation of principles of governanceResolving technical problems such as formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, and resource availabilitySpecifying deliverables and performance-measured outcome indicatorsIdentifying available resources (for example, people, material, and finances)Accurately analyzing options including impact and feasibilityIdentifying obstacles and ways to overcome them through continuous improvementRegularly monitoring solution implementation to achieve expected benefits

Required Education, Education, and Skill Sets:

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experienceQuality improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six SigmaExperience with Kaizens, Root cause analysis, value Stream MappingContinuous Improvement Management certificationAbility to weigh and manage priorities, well organized and with ability to multitaskStrong work habits focusing on safety, quality and productivityProficiency in commonly used and specialized softwareStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including advanced skills with ExcelDemonstrated ability to work in fast paced, changing environmentsAbility to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Education, Experience and Skill Sets:

Master’s Degree, preferably an MBA.Experience in Industrial ApplicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProject Management experience

Schedule 

The facility works 24 hours a day and typically 5 days a week. Our core office hours range anywhere between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and are flexible given we work together to best support business demands as well as the needs of our customers around the world.

About Our Location

We offer the latest products and solutions for industrial refrigerators and oil and gas compression. Approximately 225 employees work in Cudahy, who all support a multitude of business functions.
