Electrification & Automation

The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future. 

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will play a key role in driving transformation initiatives across our electrical service organization. This individual will be responsible for leading projects aimed at enhancing service efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Leveraging Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and a continuous improvement mindset, the Continuous Improvement Specialist will streamline processes, optimize portfolios, and implement best practices to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

Challenge existing and established practices, identify improvement opportunities and lead/support a variety of projects Lead and execute high-impact transformation projects focused on enhancing service processes, productivity, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities within the electrical service portfolio. Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions. Monitor project milestones, KPIs, and outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and maintain a high level of service quality. Conduct root cause analyses to address and resolve service-related issues and improve response times, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Champion a culture of continuous improvement by providing training, resources, and mentorship to team members. Develop, document, and standardize best practices to support consistency across service teams and locations. Prepare and present regular reports on project status, outcomes, and improvement metrics to leadership. Drive initiatives for enhancing customer experience, including feedback collection, customer journey mapping, and process refinement.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or business, or 1-3 years of experience in a Service Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or related role. Demonstrated expertise in Lean methodologies, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt certification preferred), and/or continuous improvement principles. Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and process mapping. Innovative and creative problem solver, with the ability to think outside of the box, explore new technologies, and introduce forward-thinking solutions that drive business impact. Demonstrated growth mindset, with an eagerness to learn and apply new skills, adapt to evolving trends, and continuously improve service strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence change. Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Familiar with Medium Voltage Switchgear

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
