Your role and responsibilities

In this role, the CI Specialist is a certified subject matter expert and effective practitioner of Continuous Improvement and LEAN Six Sigma. ABB’s CI Specialists develop, train and deploy methods for sustained improvements in safety, quality, delivery, operating efficiencies & costs, customer value, customer satisfaction, working conditions and morale, equipment utilization, inventory levels, throughput capacity and site aesthetics. Success requires being influential on the shop floor as a change agent and hands-on mentor to affect improvements, along with effective project management and cross-functional collaboration. The work model for the role is: HybridThis role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tConduct Workflow Analyses to define and standardize optimal processes. This includes Time & Motion Studies, Work Combination Analysis, Material Flow Assessments, Updates to Routings & Layouts, Standard Work Publications.•\tSupport Production Leadership as a Champion for an efficient Operating System: LEAN Daily Management, Tier Meetings, Dashboards, Visibly Track & Improve KPIs, Acquire & Analyze Data, Drive Action Plans, Visual Management & Controls, Process Simplification, Leader Standard Work, Gemba Walks, 5S Audits, Andon Insights, Workforce Strategy, Manpower Models/targets, and other daily charges.•\tTrain, engage & lead associates in Kaizen & Lean Focus Events: 5S, Cell Design, Waste Reduction, Ergonomics, PFEP/Kanban, VSM, SMED, TPM/OEE, Poka-Yoke.•\tCollaborate or Lead in Problem Solving, using structured 6σ methods such as DMAIC, 8D, A3’s, RCA, Statistical Analysis, Designed Experiments.Our team dynamicsYou will join a dynamic and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

HS Diploma or GED Required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree Preferred.Demonstrated history leading Kaizen and Improvement Projects that eliminated waste and improved material flow.3+ Years in a LEAN 6σ Continuous Improvement role within Manufacturing, or 7+ years Manufacturing experience in some combination of these roles: Production Supervisor/Manager, Quality Tech/Engineer, Manufacturing Tech/Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, Trainer. LEAN Manufacturing expertise required. Prefer certification by reputable source.Expertise in Problem Solving and a high level of Math proficiency (such as Statistics and Probability). Preference given to those certified in 6σ Methods such as Green Belt and Black Belt.High level of technical expertise required. Preference for experience in machining, assembly, coatings. Ability to interpret prints and create drawings.Strong computer skills, MS Office Suite, Visio. Ability to create training materials, reports, and presentations. CAD & SAP experience a plus.Project Management skills required. Certification a plus.Fiscal business acumen a plus.Fluent English required.Possess a valid driver’s license. Physical and Mental requirements exist, including: sit, stand, move about the site, and lift up to 50 lbs. Requires visual acuity and ability to audio-logically detect working environment, to speak and communicate with others. There will be exposure to noise levels, moving mechanical parts, fork truck traffic.
