Continuous Improvement Specialist
Job Description Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Engineering Department: Manufacturing Engineering FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: Analyze, plan and execute Continuous Improvement Projects among manufacturing plants. Work with Plant Operations and Supply Chain to recognize improvement opportunities, provide requests for project funding and manage projects with monthly report out requirements to company leadership. Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the company’s strategic goals. + Analyzing and understanding processes in various departments, identifying areas of waste or inefficiency. + Developing and executing improvement strategies, including change management activities. + Leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams. + Conducting continuous improvement training and workshops for staff at all levels. + Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and making necessary adjustments. + Using a range of tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen to drive process improvements. + Maintaining reports of continuous improvement activities and presenting progress to senior management. + Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. + Working closely with other managers and stakeholders to ensure that changes are implemented smoothly and efficiently. Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual will need to perform the following competencies. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications. + Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes. + GD&T experience required. + Extensive knowledge of process flows, material flow, assistive tooling devices. + Project management experience preferred. + Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment. + Ability to work well with others in a team environment. + Proficient in Microsoft Office software. + Proficiency in 3D modeling software preferred. + Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. + Ability to apply problem solving tools and methodology to a variety of manufacturing and business process issues. Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university Experience: A minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background Prerequisites: Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
