*Qualifications for Internal Candidates    

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

Strong analytic and mathematical abilities. Fluent in French & English (oral and written). Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) Ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset. Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM structure. Ability to coordinate and work independently. Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Cost accounting experience is strongly preferred. Cost estimating experience in aerospace/aviation environment is preferred, minimum of [3] years.

 

EDUCATION

 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or in a technical discipline.  Equivalent work-related experience would be considered. A training program must be sufficiently completed to acquire pertinent knowledge i.e., customers, products, processing, applicable computer programs. Additional qualifications in commercial law is a plus. Knowledge of CAD software is an asset.

*Responsibilities for Internal Candidates    

This position is primarily accountable for preparing and submitting quotes to customer and /or potential customers in response to Request for Quotes issued to Howmet Aerospace. 

QUOTING PROCESS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Collaborates with engineers, Contract Administrators, clients, and contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Adjusts estimates and recommendations based on changes and updates to projects. Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains records of cost database by entering and backing up data. Is the local owner and driver in formulating quoting strategies for specific parts.  This includes obtaining accurate costs, piecing together an approach, and driving the internal quoting process. Performs verbal and/or written follow-up with customer on quotes issued. Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on quotes are met.
