Position Purpose:
This position provides management of construction phase services, and is responsible for providing general oversight and construction administration of Veolia contractors. Responsibilities include coordination with the clients, engineering consultant(s), Veolia technical staff, Veolia contractor(s) and other key stakeholders for meetings, invoicing and payments, health and safety requirements, updating of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for both underground asset management (UGAM) and above ground asset Management (AGAM), forecast project workload/require resources, scheduling, budgeting and reporting as required.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Project team, defines scope, schedule and budget for work requiring contractors.Actively contributes to the definition and implementation of the construction and commissioning strategy of the work.Coordinates project meetings and maintenance of plant operations (MOPO) with stakeholdersPrioritize safety throughout the duration of the projectManages contractors ensuring that contractor personnel understand the project drivers, requirements and risksManages and focuses on creating positive client relationships.Utilize existing asset management system(s) to capture field work summary reports, resource labor and costs for work performed by contractors on facility assets.Assesses and controls detailed project’s site budget and planning. Issues periodical internal progress reports.Assesses risks and opportunities management of the site project activities in coordination with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Technical Manager.Manages project changes and claims management in coordination with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Technical Manager.Active participant in technical meetings.Anticipates and addresses specific topics and critical issues with the discipline engineers.Interacts with technical experts to resolve issues and risks.Lead day to day issue resolution and coordinate with the engineering team to ensure that the documentation is available and updated.Actively involved and present at site during the construction, commissioning and performance test activitiesValidates, follows up and actualizes action plans.Implementation, compliance and follow up of Veolia safety requirements and coordination with Veolia HSE Manager/site representative.Ensure any subcontractors utilized by prime contractors comply with terms and conditions of Veolia’s agreement with the prime contractor.Ensure contractor and any subcontractor work is coordination with facility operationsCapable of managing multiple contractors and projects simultaneously.Manage procurement and bidding processes as required.Work Environment:
This position is based in Buffalo, NY and will require limited travel within the United States.Office 50% Field 50%.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical/Business Field or a minimum of 8 years of work experience in site construction, engineering consulting, utility management, asset management and/or Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projectsExperience with industrial processes and system engineering with direct experience in utilities, water/wastewater, oil & gas, chemical, or similar is preferred.Experience with managing construction projects in the capacity of a Project Engineer, Construction Administrator or Resident Engineer.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Work in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment and operate independently to deliver resultsUnderstanding of asset management for both predictive and reactive maintenance, and familiarity using CMMS applications.Strong influencing and team building skills.Ability to travel periodically, if required (less than 10% of time).Comfortable and proficient executive communication skills.Drive a winning mentality and culture.Clear and concise communicator.Fluent in English.Works well in a matrix structure.Very Strong Analytical Skills.Understanding of GIS/CMMS applications.Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
