The anticipated salary range for this role is between $90,000.00 and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role DescriptionNikko America and CMI are looking to hire a Vice President to support members of senior management. To support our business growth and expansion, both geographically and across multiple business domains, establishing new agreements and expanding the scope of existing agreements is necessary, to define the rules for profit split and cost allocations between our group companies.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Intercompany Agreements Specialist to lead the development, management, and execution of intercompany agreements with our affiliate firms. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating agreements, ensuring smooth communication between all relevant departments. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to prioritize projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
As a member of the Corporate Planning Group, the candidate will work closely with members of Nikko America and CMI management, contributing not only to agreement-related initiatives, but also to firm-wide projects and other general tasks within Corporate Planning.
Role Objectives Lead intercompany agreement processes, which may involve independently drafting the framework and creating initial drafts of agreements, and finalizing contracts by leveraging resources from internal and external stakeholders. Regularly review existing contracts and update them to reflect the latest business environment, legal regulations, and requests from authorities. Mentor and develop junior staff involved in contract management. Leading quarterly intercompany charge processes. Coordinate with Legal, Tax and Compliance to ensure all agreements meet regulatory, legal and compliance requirements. Proactively identify and resolve issues related to intercompany agreements. Prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring efficient workflow and attention to detail. Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status of intercompany agreements and related initiatives. Other Corporate Planning tasks and projects. Maintain strong relationships with members of the Planning functions, senior management, relevant departments, and SMBC group entities. Effectively collaborate on meetings & discuss key topics with internal stakeholders and management teams. Qualifications and Skills Strong teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset that emphasizes working effectively with other members of the Corporate Planning Group to maximize team performance. Possess the document drafting skills necessary to create initial drafts of contracts and finalize them, along with knowledge and experience in drafting legal documents. Bilingual Japanese language skills (verbal & written) required for covering agreements with affiliates in Tokyo. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and maintain a team-oriented mindset. Detail-oriented and capable of managing complex projects with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines. Project management skills are preferred. Motivated, self-driven and takes personal ownership on delivering to the highest quality. Proficiency in Microsoft Word. Experience working with agreements, preferred.
