The Role:
Through the review of bids, purchase orders, and contracts, this position will help our distribution organization close more profitable business, while managing risk exposure as it relates to contract terms and conditions within the limits of Contract Risk Management Policy.

Essential Responsibilities:
Participate in the preparation of proposals and bid responses, including legal and business risk analysis and leading the formulation of bid and order closure strategyReview and negotiate nonstandard bid, contract and related documents to facilitate the closure of business and the administration of commercial contracts in accordance with Company policies and legal requirementsIdentify and manage legal and contractual risks associated with the Trane Commercial business offerings in North America including providing business leaders with assessments of legal, contractual and select business risk and recommendations, as warrantedDevelop and maintain strong business relationships with Trane North America commercial sales office staff, manufacturing locations, Financial Services and Risk ManagementTravel to Trane North America commercial sales offices and customer locations to negotiate agreements, enhance business relationships, solve operating problems, and market and train on the Contract Management processes and policiesServe as a member of the Global Commercial Legal, Contract Management Center of Expertise team and develop and implement consistent COE standards, processes, metrics, solutions, templates and tools to improve and facilitate best-in-class business and contract processes in the Contract Management functionAssist in the mentoring, training and development of the Contract Analysts
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, or related field1 to 3 years of contract management experience, including direct negotiations with customers, plus 1 to 3 years of business experienceAbility to quickly learn the business practices and concepts in the HVAC industryUnderstanding of the role that owners, engineers, prime contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, surety and insurance all play in the construction industryExcellent judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions and in creating and implementing standard tools to resolve recurring business and/or commercial issuesExcellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to stand firm on issues with business clients when necessaryAbility to quickly understand business objectives of an agreement, identify related issues, and facilitate a risk/benefit analysisBusiness-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity and risk managementDetail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skillsAbility to work well under pressure and prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a changing, fast-paced environmentAbility to work independentlyAbility to work well with colleagues and all levels of commercial and business functions at various locationsHighly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlinesStrong communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment with other disciplinesFlexible and adaptable – unafraid of ambiguity or a challengeStrong personal computer and presentation skillsWhere is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week at either our Davidson, NC or La Crosse, WI locations.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $92,200-121,800
