About the Position: This is a developmental Contract Specialist position responsible for a full range of contracting functions located in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Responsibilities Perform pre and post-award contracting functions in the development, justification, coordination, and completion of a large number and variety of procurement transactions from time of receipt to award, administration, and close out. Provide guidance in the development of the statement of work and data requirements. Provide guidance for acquisition planning functions for specific requirements coordinating with customers, legal and contracting personnel. Formulate the contracting approach to be taken that will best satisfy the requirement in compliance with socioeconomic programs. Interpret contract provisions for contractors and agency officials to negotiate contract modifications. Basic Education Requirement for Contract Specialist: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution.
