About the Position: This is a Contract Specialist GS-1102-11/12 developmental position with the Mission Installation Contracting Command. Responsibilities Monitors contractors' performance for compliance with terms and conditions of contracts. Exchanges information and discusses issues with representatives of private firms, industry organizations and other agency offices. Negotiates prices, terms, and condition, and prepare price negotiation memoranda. Develops sources by stimulating interest in competing or locating new sources of supply. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09) OR One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as; accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Executing contract price negotiation and/or terms and conditions on behalf of the organization; 2) Executing pre award and post-award acquisitions to procure complex commodities, services, and/or construction; and 3) Preparing documentation to execute and obligate contract actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) In addition to the specialized experience the following Basic Education requirements must be met: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
