Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Contract Specialist.
In this role, the successful candidate partnering closely with the legal and supply chain departments, he/she ensures that all contracts and purchases are executed to NYUs standards. This position is responsible for the contract review of all IT hardware, systems, services and software. This person will become the resident expert on all current and new technology associated with the evaluation, selection and recommendation of all IT products and related services. This person will be intimately involved with the Technology staff, IT Technology Administration and Sourcing and will have a seamless and transparent role to ensure that the technical and business aspect of any IT endeavors are fully addressed.
Job Responsibilities:
Execute the contracts management processes to ensure reviews of Master Service Agreements, amendments, BAAs, etc. are thorough and executed timely following NYULH standards. Review incoming contract review requests for completeness and accuracy. Exhibit a high level of IT contracts competency. Be consistent and thorough when negotiating hardware, software, MLA, SaaS, and other agreements. Serve as a primary point of contact for input on contractual language from internal stakeholders and external vendors. Review, draft, and negotiate contract language to address deviations from standard contracting positions and memorialize deal-specific terms and conditions in the contract. Coordinate review of proposed contract changes with the appropriate corporate function or subject matter expert (i.e., legal, compliance, risk management, strategic sourcing).Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
College degree and/or a minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience or equivalent combination required. A paralegal certificate is helpful but not required.
3+ years plus of contracts experience, including reviewing, structuring, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including software licensing, professional services, SaaS, and other complex commercial agreements in a corporate environment.
Excellent working knowledge of contract law and legal concepts such as Limitations of Liability, Indemnification, Warranties, Termination, Intellectual Property, and Confidentiality (including data security).
Effective communication of contract risk associated with certain arrangements with all stakeholders including C-Suite executives.
Ability to identify, research, and resolve problems as well as follow through on assignments with minimum direction.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple projects in parallel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a college degree in English or a legal related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
Ability to identify, research, and resolve problems as well as follow through on assignments with minimum direction.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 – $110,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
