This position is based out of our Crystal City, VA office with travel and remote work options supporting out-of-area DoD, Federal Civilian, and commercial customers as required.

 

The Contracting SME will provide multi-disciplinary support to government system acquisition program management offices and will serve as an adviser to government personnel. Duties will include: providing strategic acquisition planning across the life-cycle of mission critical capabilities; providing guidance and insights in the areas of contract management, purchasing, negotiations, and vendor management; developing/evaluating COAs to implement rapid acquisition using OTAs; and developing/evaluating source selection criteria for major competitive contracting efforts. Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead large meetings. 

 

The ideal candidate for this position possess U.S. Air Force and Space contracting experience with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Contracting experience from other DoD service acquisition organizations is also considered highly relevant. Serco is seeking someone who is versatile, with a broad background and demonstrated ability to produce quality work. Must be comfortable in a challenging, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, deadline-intensive environment with a flexible work schedule supporting multiple customers. Applicants must also have excellent listening as well as oral and written communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with customers and colleagues.

 

This individual is responsible for providing support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of acquisition services in support of the customer’s mission. Services include some or all of the following: 

Analyze and review requirements to determine the most effective acquisition strategiesParticipate in and lead collaborative working groups to improve customer’s ability to acquire mission critical products and servicesDevelop contracting documentation across the entire contracting spectrum – including pre-award, source selection and post award support Bid and proposal review/analysisOther related services associated with the contracting process Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

A DoD Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearanceMaster's Degree10 years of Contracting experience with major acquisition programs7 years in a leadership positionExtensive knowledge of Air Force and Space contracting policies and procedures and application to development, production and fielding of major weapon systemsExtensive experience with Defense Acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives and the FAR/DFARSAbility to work effectively both independently and a part of a collaborative teamExcellent communications skills, both written and verbalTravel up to 25%
